The Soul of Communication Reaction

Upon reading the article, it has given me a better understanding of how important communication and critical thinking is in the working industry. From the article in 2008 by IDC, it stated that the cost of employee's misunderstanding and poor communication in the United States and United Kingdom was estimated at US$37 billion. From this article, it got me thinking what would the outcome be if there wasn't any miscommunication, the money lost could have been used to improve the companies and the work life  of the workers.

I also have learnt that the root of the cause of poor communication is due to poor employee engagement and attrition, the companies fail to effectively train good communication skills to the workers as they didn't touch the core of the communication. From this alone it got me thinking what exactly is the core of communication?

I agree with the second last paragraph stating that, when leaders think critically and communicate clearly, they are also able to eliminate ambiguity in communication. Being a leader myself often times I had though about the root of some miscommunication issues and ways of how I am able to convey my message in a concise manner.
